Could a revival of the environmental spirit come from an East Tennessee church?

One house of worship wants to test the theory.

A Knoxville-area Christian church is making mountain-top removal its social justice issue for 2006. (YES, they're opposed)

"We believe that if enviromentalism is going to move into the mainstream in the South, the churches are the entry point," says a friend who is on the church's committee on the issue. "We are going to try to bring it as a spiritual issue to churches all around Knoxville and get people informed and active."
